EMILI ARMENGOL

The honest, natural evolution of an artist, allows some variations, which find a clear justification on it’s concatenation, even sometimes pose, at certain levels, a great change, with formal variations and conceptual that rise to be important.

THE WORK

The sculptures, whether in the shape of a fish or a woman’s body, possess more charm and poetic spirit, I think, than the previous more spectacular and powerful minimalist shapes.

Women and fish seem to symbolise his present universe, a more spontaneous and genuine world full of sensitivity – what a great painter who loved life once called la joie de vivre. The truth is that Emili Armengol’s sculptures are not only a testament to his talent as a sculptor and his mastery of his trade, but also fully emanate that love for life throughout.
